When it comes to storing household goods or office contents, we have enough experience and passion to accomplish this task safely and affordably.  This service or product is known to be a very serious task that we all take pride in here at Atlanta Furniture Taxi. There are several different types of moving and storage services we offer and below is a full explanation of each.

In terms of storage, there are a few questions to ask yourself before considering what type of storage you need.

 
First big question to ask yourself should be:  How long do I need storage?  Short term or long term.

Second question to ask yourself should be:  Do I actually need access to my contents during different seasons?  If you do need access to clothes or goods during different seasons of the year, then you most likely should get a private storage unit; something you can access with a code and key to your own individual locking storage unit.  

There are pro's and con's to this choice.  Pro's are of course access anytime during their operating hours and price.  Con's are these types of storage units can and do get broken into often and/or flooded with water/pipe issues or insects and pests.  This may not be caused by your own doing, but by a neighbor.  Trust me, this is an area of liability; are your goods insured this way?  This is a huge question to ask when proceeding into this type of economical solution. 

Another benefit to storing your contents with us, is that we will leave all of our protective pads on your contents while in storage.  when moving into your own private storage unit, you will need to purchase these items if you want to leave them on your contents. 

Here at Atlanta Furniture Taxi Moving Company we as a professional moving and storage company offer climate conditioned, secure, individual storage vaults, rack space or floor space.  These storage solutions are safely secured by cameras, security access, lights, gates and of course insurance.  You never have to drive by and check on items because we have a full time staff to always check on belongings, surroundings and monitored safety through great protective process and procedures.

But keep in mind, if you need access to your contents during different seasons of life, it would take time and most likely money to access these goods because we store your belongings in individual ways and possibly stored at heights above ground and in combinations of racks or vaults.  In order to obtain these racks or vaults, it would require human/employee time, at an hourly rate.  In order to allow you access we would have to pull everything you own to the loading dock and allow you access to enter your individual vaults or items from racks.  Then you get what you're looking for but we have to place everything back in it's order.  This too takes time, human assistance and money.  So typically we have a no access policy and we are by appointment only.   

Types of storage solutions we provide are both long term or short term.  
Short Term:  A duration of time not exceeding three months but could be as soon as just a few days. 

• SIT: Storage In Transit.  Yes, we offer Overnight storage on the truck(s) or leave items on the truck(s) for a small window of time typically less than a week.  This is charged by a daily rate on each truck needed or required. 
• P/H: Pick and Hold.  Yes, we can itemize inventory each item as we professionally wrap contents with proper moving blankets.  Then load truck to deliver into our warehouse into a temporary space or location in which all protective padding and shrink wrap would remain on items for a short time duration.  Then when ready for delivery we simply load up contents and drive to your destination and unload, install, assemble and place belongings where you desire.  Pick and Hold is typically charged by the hour or pound and billed storage fee's by daily rates.

Long Term Storage:  A duration exceeding three months but less than one year.  

• This service includes itemized inventory each item as we professionally wrap contents with proper moving blankets during the duration of the loading process.  Then load truck to deliver into our warehouse into a permanent space or location in which all protective padding and shrink wrap would remain on items for the duration of time in storage.  Then when ready for delivery we simply load up contents and drive to your destination and unload, install, assemble and place belongings where you desire.   These fee's are typically billed by the truck load(s) in which our trucks are 26 feet long.  This service is collected for by monthly fee's.  Pro-rating the last month is something we typically do depending on the day of the month you moved into our facility.  Charging by the truck load makes the billing easy and fair vs. other movers charge by the pound and who knows how much your shipment weights until it's loaded and typically out of sight.  Moving into or out of storage by the weight is very risky to your financial budget and over the two decades of experience we have learned it's easier to bill by the loads and it makes things cheaper for the buyer.  This service is typically billed by the hour while doing so.  Moving out is easy math based on the move in.  It's the same amount of work but doesn't take as long because the wrapping and inventory was performed on the front end and loading is the most time consuming process trying to make everything safely fit into the truck along with inventory.  Most movers charge the same amount moving out as they did moving in.  But we don't we save you money and typically the savings is 10-20% depending on contents, destination requirements and obstacles discussed upfront so we can be very prepared for everything like steep hills at destinations, elevators, long carry or added relief services like unpacking, organizing or even debris-removal.  

Permanent Storage:  A duration exceeding 12 months of storage terms.  Same services and fee's as above.  But if this is something you know you need we can generally bill upfront and save you money by buying in bulk vs monthly.   Let your friendly relocation concierge know this up front.
